First 4 Health Group Awarded £500,000 for Impact Evaluation of Groundbreaking Maternity Service

We're thrilled to announce that First 4 Health Group has been awarded a grant of £500,000 for the Impact Evaluation of our pioneering data-driven maternity service within the Stratford Primary Care Network.

This innovative initiative incorporates the utilization of a maternal psychosocial risk identification tool - MpRisk - developed by Ellescope. The tool enables proactive identification of women at-risk across preconception, pregnancy, and post-birth stages, facilitating personalized care pathways to mitigate adverse perinatal outcomes.

It's alarming that mental ill health or social disadvantages are leading causes of direct maternal deaths, with a profound lack of comprehensive and objective screening tools available. This disparity particularly affects women confronting social challenges. Thanks to our Phase 1 SBRI Healthcare Award last year, we've already begun making significant progress. Our solution empowered primary care physicians at First 4 Health Group to provide continuous, low-intensity group interventions for women at various stages of motherhood.

With this new funding, we're poised to deepen our collaboration with healthcare professionals crucial to a patient's maternity journey. Our overarching objective is to deliver comprehensive, personalized maternity care, especially for those in greatest need.

We're immensely grateful for this opportunity and remain committed to advancing maternal healthcare through innovation and collaboration.
