At First 4 Health Group we were delighted to host a Children’s Arts and Affirmations, aimed at promoting positive mental health and emotional resilience through creativity, vision and imagination.
This inspiring activity was set in place to bring children together to have fun with colours and let their imagination come to life and let the arts seek kindness within. The aim of this activity was to help children understand the importance of affirmations and the effect it has on us and how being kind and thoughtful can build mental resilience. Many children were surprised to learn that there were more than just doctors and nurses working in the GP Surgery. They learnt about the different people working at the surgery so they could feel more confident in their next visit!

What Happened in the Session?
Led by Shivani Kaur, our Personalised Care Coordinator (and supported by some wonderful volunteers) children were invited to:
Discover positive thinking
Create their own affirmations, reflecting their strengths and hopes
Decorate each flag with art, colour, and inspiration
It was a joy to watch their confidence grow and hearts shine with such heartfelt messages across the group. These are some of the messages shared:
I am respectful
I am Valued
Dance like nobody is watching
We’ve proudly displayed some of the bunting in our waiting area at Stratford Village Surgery. We'll be rotating the display across different practice sites in the coming momths. Feel free to take a look next time you visit. You might even leave with your own positive affirmation!
